I'm Emily, your local friend and curator of all things Niçoise. I invite you to step into the heart of the real Nice, where the slow-paced life and easy rhythm of the city unfold naturally.
When I began learning English, my relationship with language was truly ignited, thanks to a passionate teacher who shared her love of language through stories and songs, mostly songs! That experience left a lasting mark on me. I truly believe that cultural immersion, natural everyday inputs, and music are some of the most powerful gateways to understanding language.
My path has always been shaped by culture, language, and a genuine curiosity for people. Before returning to my roots on the French Riviera, my life took me across the globe, including living in New York City, working in Montreal, Paris and Lyon. While I enjoyed every minute of life in these bustling, high-energy cities, the call of the South was too strong, and I headed home to Nice. I missed Nice… the slow-paced lifestyle, good food, and above all, the incomparable light of the Baie des Anges. Upon returning to Nice, I opened my home to international students for a full year, sharing daily life, delicious meals, and the French language and culture alongside the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.
Today, A Nice Conversation is my way of sharing the Nice that I love with you. I am an epicurean, a lover of literature, poetry, good food, and am deeply curious about culture. My goal is to be your local friend and guide, helping you unlock your inner French while discovering the authentic flavor, history, and secret corners of this beautiful city.
A new language isn’t about flawless grammar, it’s about life and sharing a smile across a café table, and discovering that perfection is entirely optional. That is where the real adventure begins: not in mastering every rule, but in having the courage to open up and let the world in.
